Western Washington Fellowship of Reconciliation's Spring Assembly "Fair
Elections for a Fair Economy" LOCATION: Fauntleroy UCC Church 9260
California Ave SW (in West Seattle, near the Fauntleroy ferry)
Many of
the issues we care about – peace, environment, economic justice, etc. – are
being rolled back by big money that controls election campaigns and intimidates
incumbents and candidates. Virtually every issue that we care about is
held hostage to big money’s corrupting effects on democracy, so one solution to
all of our issues would be to create a system for fair and equal public funding
of campaigns. Keynote speaker, Craig Salins, Executive Director of Washington
Public Campaigns will also lead a workshop. Other workshops throughout the
day. For more information, see www.wwfor.org <http://www.wwfor.org> for
registration form (not required but helps us plan lunch) or call 206-789-5565 or
wwfor@wwfor.org. $15 helps us cover the costs
(including lunch), but pay what you can.
